Warbud wins the title 'Well-Seen Company'

Warsaw's Lubomirski Palace was the venue for the awards ceremony of the 7th edition of the competition 'Firma dobrze widziana' ('Well-Seen Company') organised by Business Centre Club. The jury chose Warbud as a socially responsible company promoting the idea of involvement, effectively communicating its CSR activities, setting directions for its business policies and concentrating not only on achieving profit but also on social values. The award was collected by Warbud's Member of the Management Board, Ms. Monika Buraś.

Candidate companies were evaluated in respect of their employment policies, equal treatment, strategies of equalization of employment opportunities for women and men, safe working conditions as well as in the context of their internal and external communications method in respect of the CSR activities performed by the firms.

The jury consisted of Mr. Marek Goliszewski, President of Business Centre Club, Paweł Łukasiak, President of the Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland, journalist Paweł Oksanowicz, Mr. Piotr Onikki-Górski, director of BCC's Social Contracts Office and Ms. Hanna Nowakowska, secretary of the Jury. Honorary patronage of the competition was taken by Minster of Family, Labour and Social Policies Ms. Elżbieta Rafalska.

During the ceremony President of Business Centre Club Marek Goliszewski referred to the wisdom of Torah and a concept of a well-seen company described Brackman and Jaffe's book 'Jewish Wisdom for Business Success.' Business is a means for a person's goal and not a goal in itself as authors suggest. Mr. Paweł Łukasiak congratulated the winners and quoted the words of a renowned Polish businessman Andrzej Blikle holding a view that this is unethical behaviour of companies which leads to crisis situations in business - not the other way round.

The event was ended by a discussion panel which was an exchange of experiences in the field of social involvement in which the winners recommended best CSR initiatives from their own point of view.
