New contract for flood protection faciliities in the Żuławy region
On April 23, 2012 Warbud signed a contract with the Pomerania Region Land Improvement and Water Facilities Management in Gdansk for a general flood protection of the Żuławy area - stage 1.
  1. The river Vistula - rebuilding of the right bank flood protection dyke at the section from Czerwone Budy to Drewnica at km 87+350 to 89+500, commune of Stegna, poviat Nowy Dwór Gdański, Pomerania region;
  1. The river Vistula - rebuilding of the right bank flood protection dyke at the section from Palczewo to Czerwone Budy at km 73+000 to 86+600, commune of Ostaszewo, poviat Nowy Dwór Gdański, Pomerania region;
  1. The river Vistula - rebuilding of the right bank flood protection dyke at the section from Lisewo to Palczewo at km 66+000 to 73+000, commune of Lichnowy, poviat Malbork, Pomerania region.

Warbud will carry out the works as a Consortium Leader together with the company Przedsiębiorstwo Robót Geologiczno-Wiertniczych Grażyna Janik, Roman Kuś Sp. J.

The contract covers the following works:

Rebuilding of flood protection dykes with overall length of 22.75 km, including:

1. sealing the flood protection dykes with the use of anti-leakage membranes built using three different methods:

  • WIPS-vibration injected diaphragm - 239 808 m2
  • DSM -  Deep Soil Mixing - 1 033 m2
  • sleeve injection -1 549 m2.

2. construction of service roads, modernization of embankment crossings - 48 370 m2.

Scheduled date of completion:  29 months following contract conclusio.
