Capitol Theatre has won 1^st prize in the category of public buildings and the Grand Prize in the Beautiful Wroclaw competition. The award ceremony was held on June 25 in the seat of the Lower Silesian Chamber of Polish Architects. Warbud was represented by Mr Marcin Majewski, site manager and Mr Łukasz Lis, works manager. The purpose of the competition is to promote the architecture of Wrocław and honour particularly important creative achievements. The main criterion for the Jury were the architectural, spatial and functional qualities of the buildings. 32 projects were proposed for the competition. They were analysed by the Jury consisting of Mr Piotr Fokczyński, City Architect - chairman, Jan Paluchniak and Wojciech Gryczyński from the Association of Wroclaw Lovers, Marcin Major - Association of Polish Architects, Andrzej Poniewierka, architect and Andrzej Szarapo from the Lower Silesia Regional Chamber of Architects.

Thanks to the rebuilding project executed by Warbud the Capitol Theatre building has gained among others a stage divided into four zones, four trapdoors thanks to which stage designs are easily installed in a modern way. Artists have new performance and dressing rooms. In the place of a ground floor structure there is now a five-storey building with a glazed front façade.

The theatre building has already won prized in two independent competitions. In this year the Capitol Theatre was awarded the First Honourable Mention of the Annual Award of the Association of Polish Architects SARP and the title Construction Project of the Year 2013 and a gold statuette in a nationwide contest organized by the Polish Association of Building Engineers and Technicians PZiTB.
