New look of infrastructure for Multinational Corps Northeast in Szczecin

Construction work has been completed on the facility for Multinational Corps Northeast in Szczecin. The work was commissioned by District Infrastructure Board in Szczecin. A modern office and staff building with an area of over 8,000 square metres a volume of almost 40,000 cubic metres intrigues viewers with its architecture, openwork glass façade and functional layout of the rooms. The effective support of the upper storeys with 8.5-metre-high columns, and the low part with 29 columns, has given the structure lightness and at the same time created comfortable arcades, which is of great importance when the building is exposed to sunlight.

The dominant visible in the top part of the building is a skylight mounted on a steel substructure. Its purpose is to transmit daylight into the space of the largest room available in the building. The entire documentation was prepared by the Warsaw firm Seris Konsalnet and commissioned by District Infrastructure Board in Szczecin.

The main building is accompanied by a sports hall with an area of 1,621 m2, closed in a volume of over 11,000 m3. There is also a car park with 173 spaces and the necessary of manoeuvring roads and sidewalks. We asked Mr. Jacek Surmacz, Contract Manager in the Public Procurement Department, about his experience of working there.

‘These are demanding facilities. Not only in terms of structure or installations, but also in terms of logistics and high execution standards. The work lasted from July 2019 to March 2023. In December 2022, we completed construction of the sports hall, and in March, finally, the entire multipurpose facility. We are satisfied with the results; I believe that the staff of the Headquarters of the Multinational Corps Northeast in Szczecin as well. Thanks to the new space, the conditions of service and work will certainly be better.’

In the interiors of the six-storey building there are spatial assembly halls, offices, technical and sanitary rooms. We also independently expanded the sports hall where there is a gym, a room for boxing training and a relaxation area with a sauna and showers.

‘I want to thank all my colleagues involved in this project,’ Jacek Surmacz says. ‘First of all, for all their time, strength and consistency. I address these words in particular to the entire staff at the construction site, which gave their best and fully achieved their goals. Thank you very much for your work.’
