In Łódź Warbud is executing the second stage of construction works of the Clinical and Teaching Centre of Medical University of Łódź with Academic Oncology Centre. Our engineers are supervising a major renovation of old hospital buildings thanks to which the facility will gain, among others, a new operating theatre, an imaging diagnostics laboratory and nearly 400 hospital beds. The project covers an area of 40 thousand square metres and its goal is an adaptation the existing but non-finished part of the buildings to the new medical functional program, strengthening of the structural elements as well as thermal modernization of the facility. These works have been completed including the roofing works. However, there is still a lot to be done. The project involves working on a living organism. The hospital is in full swing.

Mr. Paweł Mikulski, Warbud SA works manager, tell us what the facility looks like at the end of August: ‘At present we are preparing a space for commissioning of installations and devices on seven floors of the higher building A1. We are fitting furniture and accessories. On three floors, there are already carpets, walls have been painted, ceilings are installed and sanitary and electrical equipment is in place. On the technical floors, specifically at levels -3,2,8 and 17, we regularly provide power supply for subsequent systems to be able to carry out commissioning. Meanwhile, in the lower building A2, workers are completing plasterboard walls and shafting. The façade is also being completed there.’
