WARBUD among members of Contractors' Agreement for BIM

On October 1, 2025, the long-awaited Contractors' Agreement for BIM was launched. The initiative unites the largest general contracting companies in Poland around a common goal - to organise and standardise the principles of applying the openBIM methodology. The signatories are nine companies: ATLAS WARD, Eiffage Polska, ERBUD, Hochtief Polska, Kajima Corporation, Mostostal Warszawa, Pekabex, PORR and WARBUD SA, but the initiative is open. This is the first such a broad nationwide alliance of construction companies that have joined forces to build the future of digital construction in Poland.

The mission of the Agreement, which was established with the support of the association buildingSMART Poland, is primarily to develop common positions of the contractor community that will help introduce transparent and practical rules for the use of BIM in construction projects. The initiators want BIM in Poland to become not only a formal requirement, but above all a tool for everyday efficiency, transparency, and sustainable development. They plan to create a common language for digital construction, to operate based on open standards, and promote collaboration of market participants and sharing of knowledge. Jakub Kulig, BIM Team Manager at WARBUD SA, says that ‘The creation of the Agreement is a clear signal to the Polish market and contracting authorities that, as general contractors, we want and are able to use the opportunities given by the BIM methodology. What's more, we see it as the future for the construction industry. However, to efficiently use digital tools in the construction process, in addition to opportunities, we must also map threats, so we will discuss them with all stakeholders of the process. I want this initiative to give impetus to the process of "reliable" and practical implementation of BIM at the legislative level in our country, including establishing a standard that will be used and required, among others, in the area of public procurement.'

All members of the Agreement participate in regular meetings during which key challenges and directions for the industry are discussed. For specific topics, working teams are established, which meet for workshops to analyse cases and develop recommendations for the entire community. The effects of this work in the form of, among others, positions, recommendations or good practices, are subject to consultations and published as official documents of the Agreement.
