On 21 March 2023, at the Sheraton Grand Warsaw hotel, the 14th edition of the "Polish Infrastructure and Construction 2023" Conference was held. This day wa certainly a successful day for Warbud.

An important voice in the debate

In the debate on public procurement, Warbud was represented by Mr. Przemysław Szulfer,  Treasury and Administration Director, who together with business and public sector, infrastructure, railway, transport and environmental construction experts talked about price indexation, project risk management and the PPP formula as an alternative to financing Polish infrastructure.

He emphasized that the construction sector would wish to see improved competitiveness and better operating conditions - not only for general contractors, but also better financial conditions for subcontractors. ‘Without them, the sector has no chance to develop. The market expects support from the banking and financial sectors. We are observing the subcontractors’ deteriorating financial situation and liquidity. Without small and medium-sized enterprises we cannot think about building the potential of the entire construction sector in Poland,’ said P. Szulfer.

Statuette for the construction of PSC Łukasiewicz

The Podkarpacie Science Center "ŁUKASIEWICZ" won a prize in the category Project of the Year - Construction of a Building. The Jury appreciated modern technological solutions and high quality workmanship, significantly standing out from the competition. The award was collected on behalf of the construction team by Mr. Paweł Kiwak, Contract Manager at Branch East and Mr. Maciej Kurowski, Site Manager. ‘I feel really proud. The more so that it is the second facility of this type and scale in Poland after the Copernicus Science Center in Warsaw which was built by Warbud,’ said Mr. Kiwak, emphasizing that it the success would not be possible without the involvement of all employees.

Nicolas Dépret - Personality of the Year in the Construction Sector

During the "Diamonds, Infrastructure and Construction" gala, being the culmination of the conference, the Competition jury honoured Mr. Nicolas Dépret - President of the Management Board of Warbud SA and Eurovia Polska, with the title "Personality of the Year in the Construction Sector". This is a special distinction awarded to industry leaders in recognition of proficiency in business practices, above-average quality of company management and decision-making skills contributing to the growth of revenue and the value of the managed company. ‘Thank you very much for this distinction. I don’t really know if personal accolades matter in our industry. It is basically teamwork and I should have 2,500 people here with me,’ said N. Dépret, accepting the statuette from Mr. Jan Styliński, President of the Polish Association of Construction Industry Employers.
