Warbud will build Science and Teaching Centre and Cadaver Training Centre for Clinical Hospital in Otwock

On May 8, 2023, Warbud signed a contract for designing and construction of the Science and Teaching Centre, Cadaver Training Centre and a connector between the Rehabilitation Clinic and Building H-J of Adam Gruca Independent Public Clinical Hospital CMKP in Otwock.

The contract was signed on behalf of Warbud by: Mr. Grzegorz Chudzik, Member of the Management Board and Mr. Karol Puszerkiewicz, Director of Region North. The Client was represented by prof. Jarosław Czubak, Hospital Director, Head of Orthopaedics and Children’s Orthopaedics and Traumatology of the CMKP.

The Centre will consist of an auditorium, cadaver lab imitating operating theatres with twelve fully equipped open workstations, corresponding to twelve operating theatres, and video equipment. The facility will also house teaching and demonstration rooms, cadaver storage and preparation rooms, and tools sterilization rooms. The building is designed for 400 people. Its body will be integrated into the space of an internal patio, and there will be a garden on the green roof. The only visible fragment of the building's body will be the southern elevation exposed in connection with the terrain slope.

The connector located between the Rehabilitation Clinic and Building H-J will allow a safe circulation and transport of patients between the departments, thus facilitating the operation of the entire hospital complex.

‘This is the first public cadaver training lab in Poland which will be located directly next to an active hospital. Lectures and practical classes for doctors undergoing medical specialization are planned in the facility. The center of postgraduate medical education will offer exercises on cadaver preparations, i.e. fragments of the human body, thanks to which young doctors will be able to perform trial medical operations in conditions almost identical to those in an operating unit. This facility will allow both to conduct exercises and discuss them directly in real time in the auditorium. The recording rooms adjacent to the training lab will allow the personnel to broadcast live materials from the exercises,’ said Karol Puszerkiewicz, Director of Region North.
