Warbud will build second phase of largest hospital in Greater Poland region

On April 3, 2023, in the presence of representatives of the Polish government and the authorities of Karol Marcinkowski Medical University in Poznań and of Warbud’s personnel, a contract was signed for the second phase of construction of the Central Integrated Clinical Hospital, which is being built in Poznan’s Grunwald district. Warbud SA was represented by Nicolas Dépret, President of the Management Board and Lech Wąsowski, Company representative.

Warbud will implement that part of the project in a joint venture with TKT Engineering, who will be responsible for the design, sanitary, electrical and low-voltage systems. Warbud, acting as the leader, will be responsible for the entire procurement. The hospital is a “design and build” project consisting of three buildings with a total area of over 30,000 sqm. The task will be implemented in the period from April 2023 to October 2025.

Ultimately, the newly built facilities will house departments of cardiology with an intensive care unit, cardiac surgery with transplantology, endocrinology, vascular surgery, otolaryngology, maxillofacial surgery, neurosurgery and neurotraumatology, hypertensiology and diabetology.

‘After completing the construction of those modules, we will move all the hospital wards there from the historic building located at Długa Street and some wards from the buildings at Przybyszewskiego Street,’ said prof. Andrzej Tykarski, rector of Karol Marcinkowski Medical University in Poznań during the contract signing ceremony.

‘We are glad that our offer - prepared with the best solutions and functionality of the future hospital in mind - turned out to be the most competitive proposal - and today, in this place, we can sign the contract. This is not our first joint project, but a continuation of our cooperation. Which has been good, demanding, but also a partner cooperation. Therefore we know that the construction project will be successful. In less than 2.5 years, the inhabitants of Poznań will be able to use a modern hospital,’ declared Nicolas Dépret, President of Warbud S.A.’s Management Board.

The first stage of the project is coming to an end

Warbud started the construction of CZSK in 2021. The first two buildings with a total area of over 30,000 sqm are already standing. The first module is the Hospital Emergency Room and operating theatres with anaesthesiology and intensive care units. The second module is intended for main surgery wards, so that the ER has the necessary facilities. Ultimately, the facility will occupy 60,000 sqm of total area. Annually, up to 70,000 patients will be treated there.
