Warbud will rebuild flood control dikes in Warsaw’s districts of Mokotow and Wilanow
Warbud will rebuild flood control dikes on the left bank of the river Vistula in the area of Warsaw districts of Wilanow and Mokotow.
On 26 October 2011 the Company signed a contract with Regional Board of Land Improvement and Water Utilities in Warsaw for the rebuilding of the existing flood control dikes of the left-bank of the river Vistula.
Scope of works:
- increasing the height of the dike crest by 0-35 cm to reach the proposed height,
- strengthening and sealing the body of the embankment and its base by building a vertical anti-filtration wall along a 6.7 km long section to the depth of 7.5 - 11 m of a cement and bentonite mix using the Deep Soil Mixing Method with area of 61 236 m2
- protecting a 670 m long waterside embankment section with mesh against beavers, with total area of 4198 m2,
- construction of a 2 m wide service road at km 5+120 ÷ 9+600 on the crest of the dyke to be made of concrete pavers along the length of 4 480 m,
- purchase and installation of 600 bird shelters.
The project is co-financed from the National Environmental Protection and Water Management Fund in Warsaw.
