What We Do

Other activities

War in Ukraine

Warbud’s Foundation - Warto Pomagać provided financial support to Polish Humanitarian Action, the Our Choice Foundation and the Polish Medical Mission association. Thanks to the support, the most necessary medical, dressings and first aid supplies for people defending their homeland were purchased. The funds also allowed to provide psychological support and pay for Polish language lessons for people fleeing from Ukraine. In the very centre of Wrocław, there operates the Ukrainian House renovated by Warbud. It was a response to the request of the foundation BloomPro who wanted to create a place of support and psychological care for 200 women and children, including 34 children without both parents. A space was created for professional activation of Ukrainian women through among others learning Polish and English, preparatory and CV writing courses as well as direct meetings with employers.

We plant trees

Plant a Forest - is a "green" campaign by the Warbud Foundation on Warbud’s 30th anniversary, consisting in planting 3,000 trees in an area of 3,330 square meters. Our activities are part of the fight against global warming and  promote increasing biodiversity. In cooperation with Posadzimy.pl, local government units and forest districts, we chose locations which are not accidental. Trees will grow in forest areas damaged by storms, droughts and weather anomalies - where they are needed most today. The locations which require urgent revitalization include Chojnice, Kamienna Góra and Ogrodzieniec. Oaks, birches, rowans, beeches and hornbeams will be planted there in autumn. Annually, our trees will absorb 18,000 kgs of carbon dioxide (18 tons) and produce oxygen for 2010 people. Thanks to those trees, we also return 174 tons of paper.

Bird sanctuaries

The Foundation has become a partner of the educational and nature program “I help birds". The project combines the social and educational aspects. Its essence is an active protection of cavity-nesting birds in rural areas in Poland and the activation of residents - especially children and the elderly - in the practical activity of installing nesting boxes and then watching wild birds in the so-called "Bird Sanctuaries". Those activities raise environmental awareness but also constitute a form of intergenerational integration.

Construction of a church in Ptaszkowa

Our foundation has supported the construction of a church in Roman Catholic parish of the Name of Virgin Mary in the village of Ptaszkowa, commune Grybów in the dioecese of Tarnów by handing over money for that purpose. The construction work has been carried out with the use of parishioners' own means, that is with their material and financial efforts supported by people from outside their community. The work started in 1997.

"Adopt Me"

We have supported a group of animal lovers who care about every cat and dog. The association "Adopt Me" helps homeless, stray and deserted cats and dogs to find new homes for the rest of their lives. They have managed to find new owners for 350 animals and the rest of them are waiting for their new families in warm and cosy temporary homes.

Fireman's Day Celebration 2011
The Foundation regularly supports Warbud’s actions promoting fire safety. In May 2011 nationwide Fireman's Day celebrations were held in Poland organized by the Polish Association of Volunteer Fire Brigades. Our participation in these celebrations was a tribute to the firefighter's commitment and the role of volunteer fire departments in ensuring general safety.

Hope before Euro 2012
Warbud Foundation was one of the sponsors of the 1st National Polish Orphanages Football Championships - Hope before Euro 2012. 25 teams took part in this unique tournament which took place on 26 September 2010 in Warsaw. The football matches were accompanies by great picnic in the Bema Fort adjacent to the tournament venue. There were demonstrations of football tricks, judo, aikido and kendo, there were samurais and cheerleaders, drummers and magicians. The best team in the tournament played a match against Polish actors from Polish Artists Representation.
The next edition of this project will take place in September 2011 and it will be the last stage before the European Orphanages Football Championships. The championship is not only a sports but also a social event - it brings emotions and joy and shows that anything is possible when you believe in yourself. It is also possible that children from orphanages may take part in the EURO Championships.

Help to Georgia
Through the Foundation for Polish Knights of Malta, who organized a money and gifts collection, we joined the campaign aimed at helping the Georgians. As a result of the 2008 war in this country, about 2,500 families were forced to flee their homes.
The initiative was aimed to provide food, hygiene products and clothing to the refugees, as well as give them shelters and medical and psychological care.

Eco-active
We feel responsible for the natural environment and finance programs which help to increase environmental awareness. The Foundation provides funds for seminars and films on environmental protection whose purpose is to develop good habits and encourage every-day use of eco-principles. In 2010 we co-organized World Water Day in Warsaw whose aim was to develop environmental education and explain the importance of water in everyday life to residents of Polish capital.
