On October 4, 20915 a special run named 'Outpacing Cancer' was organized by the Marshal Office of the Łódź region, Copernicus Hospital in Łódź and the Sports and Health Academy.

The purpose of the event was to popularize physical activity and disseminate knowledge on cancer prevention. The run took place in the Łagiewniki forest. There were crowds of participants attracted by the sunny and warm weather.

Warbud team consisted of Damian Łata, Krzysztof Reda, Lech Wąsowski, Ola Pieniążek-Olczyk, Dariusz Matulski and Tomasz Lewiński.

The route of the run was 5.4 km long. All those who felt not strong enough for running could take part in a 1.5 km march. The 'Outpacing Cancer' run and march was opened by the Marshal of the Łódź region Mr Witold Stępień and Director of N. Copernicus Regional Specialist Hospital in Łódź Mr Wojciech Szrajber.

There were also 400 m and 1 km runs for the youngest participants from primary schools for grades 1-3 and 4-6.

After finishing the run the participants were offered integration events and recovery at a barbecue.
