Warbud has won a contract for the construction of barracks and office facilities at Tadeusz Kościuszko Land Forces Academy (AWL) in Wrocław. The contract was signed on July 17, 2024, by Rector of AWL, retired Lieutenant General Dr. Marek Tomaszycki, Nicolas Dépret, President of Warbud SA’s Management Board and Grzegorz Chudzik, Member of Warbud’s Management Board.
As part of the project, three "Siedlce" type barracks buildings with complete infrastructure will be built on the premises of the Land Forces Academy. This will increase the potential of the Academy by approximately 1,000 places for the accommodation of cadets and will secure jobs for the command staff of subunits. In addition to that, a "Wesoła" type facility will be built. It is a headquarters and office building which will provide jobs and service posts for approximately 450 soldiers and University employees.
It should be noted that buildings such as "Siedlce" and "Wesoła" are typical designs of military facilities. Our role will be to adapt and adjust them to the needs of AWL.
Tomasz Blecharski, Director of Warbud’s Specialist Construction Region, said that ‘This is a very important contract for us. The construction of four office, barracks and headquarters buildings is a continuation of our extensive experience gained during the construction of similar military facilities. After the Sports Hall, it is another facility built for AWL. We are glad that we can design and build new facilities which will improve the infrastructure of the dynamically developing university, which is currently besieged by future adepts of military crafts. The signed contract is the culmination of the work of the Tender Team and the Planning and Scheduling Team. This cooperation allowed us to optimize the price and completion date which was one of the criteria for tender bid assessment. This task is an engineering challenge and an area for cooperation for our geotechnical and design departments and Warbud SA's own workforce unit.’
