Subcarpathian Science Centre 'Łukasiewicz' has won laurels in an industry competition for the fourth time. This time, the facility became a finalist of the competition ‘Modernization of the Year and & Construction Project of the 21st Century.’ The goal of the competition is to reward investors, contractors and designers for a specific construction project as a joint work of all three participants. Its aim is to choose construction projects which stand out for their special qualitative, functional, urban and aesthetic values.
The golden statuette and the title "Building Project of the Year 2022" for the construction of PCN Łukasiewicz were collected by Mr. Paweł Kiwak, Project Manager, and Mr. Maciej Kurowski, Site Manager. The award granted to Warbud honours the 33-month work of our staff and at the same time confirms that our project was among Poland’s best development projects in the last year. The gala took place on September 19, 2023 in Warsaw.
On August 31, 2023, Warbud signed a contract for the revitalization of the urban area within the plot of the Admiralspalast building in Zabrze. The project will be implemented in the “design and build” formula. Warbud was represented during the ceremony by Mr. Grzegorz Chudzik, Member of the Management Board, and Mr. Bartłomiej Panek, Director of the Katowice Branch. The Investor was represented by Mrs Małgorzata Mańka-Szlik, Mayor of the City of Zabrze.
Building 1 of Military Clinical Hospital in Lublin is almost 100 years old. The six-storey building, built in the 1920s in the representative part of the city, was built with contributions made by the society. After World War II, it changed its function from an educational institution to hospital. On October 6, 2022, Warbud undertook to expand the historic building. The main building gained an additional floor which will house comfortable departments of Neurosurgery, Cardiology, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Neurosurgery. For technical installations serving the fourth floor, an additional technical floor was also built.
The City of Łódź and a comprehensive rebuilding of a facility built in the 1970s. We are talking here about the Clinical and Teaching Centre of the Medical University which, thanks to the execution of the second stage of construction work gained not only new spaces, but also safe building systems and additional functionalities. The soaring building A1 with 21 floors, 189 meters long and 24 meters wide, houses 13 hospital wards. The lower building A2, 195 m long and over 110 m wide, has four storeys and contains among others the Operating Theatre, Admission Room and Hospital Emergency Department. The building has a total of 1,200 rooms. The usable area of buildings A1 and A2 amounts to over 68,000 sqm., of which 19,000 sqm. is the building footprint area.
In Kostrzyn nad Odrą the construction of a new road bridge over the Warta River, located along National Road 31 is underway. The purpose of the project implemented by Warbud SA is not to increase the capacity of the traffic capacity of the road itself, but to clear the water route. A new structure will be built in place of the old bridge, it will be 300 meters long, with better load-bearing parameters and, above all, a higher structure, thanks to which icebreakers and large-size barges will be able to pass under it.
Construction work has been completed on the facility for Multinational Corps Northeast in Szczecin. The work was commissioned by District Infrastructure Board in Szczecin. A modern office and staff building with an area of over 8,000 square metres a volume of almost 40,000 cubic metres intrigues viewers with its architecture, openwork glass façade and functional layout of the rooms. The effective support of the upper storeys with 8.5-metre-high columns, and the low part with 29 columns, has given the structure lightness and at the same time created comfortable arcades, which is of great importance when the building is exposed to sunlight.
Saturday, July 1, 2023, was the opening day of the Freedom Pavilion in Warsaw’s Royal Łazienki Park - an original outdoor installation which is an expression of solidarity with Ukraine fighting for freedom. It is made of wood, which is a material not only very easy to process, but also environmentally friendly. The round form symbolizes unity, solidarity, security and peace. The sunflowers filling the interior of the wooden openwork structure refer to the yellow colour of the Ukrainian flag, while the roof made of white canvas evokes associations with a sail - expressing freedom. The partner for the project is Warbud SA and the Warbud Foundation - Warto Pomagać.
On June 18, 2023, a ceremony took place in which a contract was signed for the construction of a military complex to be used by subunits of the 11th Division of General Leopold Okulicki Lesser Poland Territorial Defence Brigade in Limanowa. During the event, a cornerstone for the construction of the project was also laid. The barracks will be ready in 20 months after signing the contract.
On June 14, 2023, Warsaw Stock Exchange hosted a group of experts, practitioners and enthusiasts of public-private partnership ventures and created a space for an objective and open dialogue - not only about the benefits, but also about the challenges of that approach. Since 2008, 176 PPP contracts with a total value of PLN 8,902,497,889.56 were signed in Poland, but this area is still developing too slowly, experts say. That is why during PPP Leaders’ Forum participants were allowed to establish real contacts, a networking space was created in which dialogue on potential cooperation and the possibility of implementing investment projects in the PPP model could be undertaken by everyone, and eminent panellists provided access to the latest knowledge.
